Swellable Waterstop

Joluka Swellable Waterstop is a high-performance sealing solution for construction joints. It expands on contact with water, forming a reliable barrier that prevents water from passing through concrete. Builders use it in both vertical and horizontal applications, especially in static joints. However, it is not suitable for expansion joints. Joluka manufactures this waterstop using a blend of sodium bentonite and butyl rubber, which ensures flexibility, durability, and consistent performance. When exposed to moisture, the material swells—up to 250% in rainwater and 150% in concrete water—to fill cracks and voids, creating a watertight seal. Each roll measures 10 meters in length, with a cross-section of 20 mm by 10 mm, and comes in black. Joluka packages the product in cartons of six rolls, making it easy to transport and store on-site. For proper installation, apply the waterstop to a clean, smooth concrete surface. Overlap joints by 5 to 10 cm and ensure a minimum concrete cover of 6 cm on each side. This prevents premature swelling and ensures the seal remains intact. On vertical surfaces, secure the waterstop using wire mesh and gun nails. The product offers excellent chemical resistance and performs well in aggressive environments. It is MFPA certified, contains no PVC, CFC, or HFC, and complies with ECHA REACH regulations. It is also free from substances of very high concern, making it safe for use in sustainable construction.
